Mack Ray Barnes was born on November 22, 1928, in Henry County, Alabama. He was the son of Tollie D. Barnes and Reda Kirkland Barnes. He served in the 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division, as a Sergeant First Class and Light Weapons Assault Crewman during the Korean War.
SFC Barnes was Killed in Action on June 12, 1952, in North Korea. He is now buried in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Henry County, Alabama, USA.
