B. R. Archer was born on August 28, 1924, in Ragland, St. Clair County, Alabama. He was the son of Mortica Reese "Mort" Archer and Mary Kate Lane Archer. He served in the 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.
PFC Archer died from his wounds received in battle on August 3, 1950, in South Korea. He is now buried in the Garden of Memories Creekside Christian Church Cemetery, Ragland, St. Clair County, Alabama, USA.
