Robert E. Adams was born on July 6, 1916, in Alabama. He was the son of Robert L. Adams and Maude Eugenia Lessor. He was married to Agnes Higginbotham. Before entering military service, Adams had worked for the Perry Creamery Company in Tuscaloosa. He had served in the Army since his mobilization in 1940 and was formerly a member of the National Guard, where he also spent three years as an instructor. He served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, as a Master Sergeant and Light Weapons Assault Crewman during the Korean War.
MSgt Adams was Killed in Action on December 2, 1950, during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. He is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
