When William E. Galloway was born on March 21, 1926, in Ohio, his father, Reynolds, was 20 and his mother, Dorothy, was 20. He had one sister. Galloway graduated from Port Clinton High School and received his training at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on April 23, 1945 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
