When Martin Finik was born on November 7, 1909, in Butler, Pennsylvania, his father, Michael, was 36 and his mother, Julia, was 28. He married Blanche Krzeminski on June 29, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He entered the military service in New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on March 18, 1945 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
