When James Clifton Dobson was born on June 24, 1915, in Nicholas, West Virginia, his father, Major, was 37 and his mother, Lamanda, was 33. He married in 1936 in his hometown. He had two children during his marriage. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on February 27, 1945 and is now buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Richwood, Nicholas County, West Virginia, USA.
