When Orville W. Collins was born on November 4, 1919, his father, James, was 30 and his mother, Ruth, was 30. He had seven brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on March 17, 1945 and is now buried in Rising Sun Cemetery, Rising Sun, Polk County, Iowa, USA.
