When Carlton Seymour Ward was born on November 18, 1917, in Marietta, Wisconsin, his father, Seymour, was 27 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 28. He had two brothers and two sisters. He enlisted in the Army on August 24, 1944. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on April 13, 1945 and is now buried in Boscobel Cemetery, Boscobel, Grant County, Wisconsin, USA.
