Earl Charles Bagwell was born on March 10, 1923, in Pickens County, South Carolina. He was the son of George Oscar Bagwell and Artie Holder Bagwell.
He served in Company A, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Provisional Marine Brigade, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1944, during the Battle for Guam.
