When Joseph J. Kapustka was born on January 25, 1918, his father, Josef, was 32 and his mother, Marianna, was 27. He had two brothers and four sisters. He enlisted in the Army on January 14, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on April 20, 1945 and is now buried in St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Niles, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
