Wesley G. Guthrie was born on November 9, 1919. He enlisted in the Army on January 26, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. Guthrie was Killed in Action on April 17, 1945 while out on Recon with his Platoon outside of Tanne, Germany. He is now buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA.
