Claudis C. "Buck" Jenkins was born on May 22, 1914. He was the son of Claud Jenkins and Mary Temmie Horner Jenkins.

Claudis attended school at Edhube. He entered the Army in January 1942, training at Ft. Riley, Ft. Benning, and others. He had served in England and France. He served in Company D, 712th Battalion, 90th Infantry Division, as Technician 4th Grade. He was Killed in Action on July 27, 1944, in Périers, France, in a bomb explosion when the tank he was in ran over a booby trap. He is now buried in the Carson Cemetery, Ector, Fannin County, Texas, USA.
