Robert James Doine was born on March 4, 1922, in Wisconsin. He served in the 860th Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, H860th Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator on the B-17 #44-6513 during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 9, 1945, when his airplane was hit by an enemy flak and crashed near Munich, Germany. All men aboard were killed as a result of the crash.
SSgt Doine is now buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, Antigo, Langlade County, Wisconsin, USA.
