Glen E. Matthews was born on December 8, 1923, in Wayne County, Illinois. He was the son of Jess W Mathews and Ina T Matthews.
Glen served in Company G, 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944, at the age of 20 in France. Pvt Matthews is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
