He served in Company F, 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Private during World War II. Pvt Garbin was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, at the age of 19, in France. He is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France.
