Glenn A. Pratt, Jr. was born on February 28, 1920 in Machias, Cattaraugus County, New York. He served in the 301st Squadron, 29th Transport Group as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 13, 1943 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Machias, Cattaraugus County, New York, USA. His rank is inscribed as Second Lieutenant on his headstone. 1Lt Pratt was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
