James J. Watts was born on October 13, 1919. He served in the US Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He died on January 25, 1944 at the age of 24 and is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA. Ssgt Watts was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China. He was a passenger of an aircraft at the time of his death.
