Kenneth Herman Stahl was born on January 22, 1921 in Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Flight Officer Stahl was the co-pilot on B-24L #44-49574, assigned to the 10th Air Force, 7th Bombardment Group, 492nd Bombardment Squadron. They where flying a cargo of gasoline from Tezpur India over the Himalayas to Chengtu air base in China when they crashed under unknown circumstances. All aboard were killed. He is now buried in the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA.

F/O Stahl was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is also commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
