Arnold E. Ross was born on July 9, 1919. He was the son of Peter Joseph Ross and Barbara Elizabeth Sobieszczyk Ross. F/O Ross was KIA while flying over Burma. His remains were recovered and was originally buried Jan 27 1949 in Barrakpore Cemetery, India. Subsequently he was brought home and buried Mar 22 1950 in the National Cemetery of the Pacific. He also has a cenotaph located in Highland Cemetery, Ravenna, Buffalo County, Nebraska. F/O Ross was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
