Arthur Raymond Labrack was born on March 12, 1918 in South Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Elmer David LaBrack and Anna Belle Goodale LaBrack. He was inducted into the service on Jan. 16, 1941, into Co. M, 181st Infantry. He was chosen to receive special training, becoming a ferry pilot, as a 2nd Lt. and promoted to 1st Lieut. Arthur was killed in a plane crash in China and is now buried in the New Cemetery, Ashburnham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA.

He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
