James Blaine Heise was born on May 31, 1918 in Michigantown, Clinton County, Indiana. He was the son of Luther Blaine Heise and Mabel Fern Laughner Heise. He served in the 11th Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, Medium as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of C-47A # 42-93385. He died on June 28, 1944 in Myanmar and is now buried in the Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana, USA. James was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
