Born 9 October 1922, near Bonne Terre, Missouri to Goldie DeMier Cash and Josh James Cash. He was inducted into the army 22 Dec 1942 and received his training at Ft. Bliss, Texas and Camp Pickett, Va. A member of Battery C, 197th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion, he went overseas in December 1943 and trained in England until D-Day and landed in Normandy in the invasion. He was married on 11 June 1943 at Ft. Bliss, Texas to Miss Pearl Martin of St. Louis. SGT Cash was murdered by the Nazis on 17 Dec 44 at Baugnez Crossroads in Malmedy, Belgium, a few minutes before the Malmedy massacre.
