Samuel L. Brown was born on June 19, 1920. He served in the American Volunteer Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 5, 1944 in China at the age of 23 and is now buried in the City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. Samuel was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
