John Boynton was born on December 16, 1910 in Henry Walcott Boynton and May Whittemore Boynton. He served in the US Air Corps as a Sergeant and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. John died on March 27, 1944 at the age of 33. Previously reported as "Missing" in a flight between India and China, he is now buried in the Juniper Hill Cemetery, Bristol, Bristol County, Rhode Island, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
