Norbert Lewis Lederer, an engineer, was born in 1888 in Vienna, Austria to naturalized American parents. He studied in Paris from 1911. He served in the US Army during World War I and World War II. He died in 1955 at the age of 67 and was buried in the American Legion Mausoleum just west of Paris.
