When Clarence Merritt Glover was born on May 20, 1894, in Manhattan, New York, his father, Benjamin, was 40 and his mother, Louise, was 35. He had two brothers and five sisters. Clarence was a US military veteran who is buried in the American Legion Mausoleum just west of Paris. He died on August 20, 1971, at the age of 77.
