Marston J. Stokes was born on June 10, 1923 in Bothwell, Box Elder County, Utah. He was the son of Thomas William Stokes and Annie Laura Nichols Stokes. Before entering the Army Marston worked on the family farm. Marston served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle in St. Lo, France on July 27, 1944 at the age of 21 and is now buried in Valley View Cemetery, Bothwell, Box Elder County, Utah, USA.
