Malcolm N. Stanford was born on Oct. 6, 1925 in Callahan county, he attended the Dotson rural and Bonham high school. He was engaged in farming when he entered the army. He entered the armed forces on Jan. 20, 1944 at Mineral Wells and received training at Camp Fannin, Ft. Meade, Md. and Leonard Wood, Mo., before sailing for overseas duty on November 5, 1944. Malcolm served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 24, 1944 in Germany at the age of 19 and is now buried in Ravenna Cemetery, Ravenna, Fannin County, Texas, USA.
