Burle Albert Ellis was born on December 11, 1924 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Bruce Enos Ellis and Erna G. Ake Ellis. Burle served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company D, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 29, 1944 in Germany at the age of 19 and is now buried in Imler Valley Cemetery, Imler, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, USA.
