Alfred F. Broadman was born in 1924. A graduate of Emmaus High school with the class of 1943, Alfred had been in service since March 13, 1943. His basic training was received at Camp Polk, La., and Camp Boyd, Texas. After he finished training at Camp Boyd, he was sent overseas to England and subsequently was in action in France, Belgium and Germany. Alfred was a member of the Moravian church in Emmaus, having been confirmed just a short time prior to entering the armed forces. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company B, 745th Tank Battalion. He was Killed in Action on October 9, 1944 in Germany and is now buried in Emmaus Moravian Cemetery, Emmaus, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA.
