Raymond E. Steczek was born on November 16, 1924. He was the son of Frank J. Steczek and Josephine Kolodziej Steczek. Raymond served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 19 and is now buried in Saint Casimir's Cemetery, Kangley, LaSalle County, Illinois, USA.
