William Verderamo was born in 1914 in Delaware. He enlisted in the Army on April 16, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a Gardener and also as being Married. William served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument on Omaha Beach, France but his surname is inscribed as Verdorano.
