David Eugene Mundis was born on November 8, 1916. He was the son of Albert Henry Mundis and Ella May Lehr Mundis. Before his entry into the service, he was employed by the Tioga Weaving company. David was inducted into the army, received his basic training at Camp Wheeler, Ga., was sent overseas and arrived in England. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944 in France at the age of 27 and is now buried in Greenmount Cemetery, York, York County, Pennsylvania, USA.
