Onda Murphy was born on February 22, 1916. He entered the military service on November 3, 1942. Onda served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was in the North African and Sicialian invasion before was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 28. He is now buried in Childers Cemetery, Meally, Johnson County, Kentucky, USA.
