Thaddeus S. Gumienny was born on March 24, 1921. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Saint Peter's German Redemptionist Fathers Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA.
