Harold E. Benoit was born on June 20, 1920 in Massachusetts. He was the son of Lillian Condon Benoit. Harold served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the 5th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 24 and is now buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery Annex, Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont, USA.
