Clarence D. Arnold was born on August 22, 1920 in Liberty, Union County, Indiana. He was the son of Dock and Jane Arnold. He enlisted in the Army in March 1941 at Fort Thomas, KY and was sent overseas in July 1942. He was wounded while participating in the North African campaign in April 1943. Clarence served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 16, 1944 at the age of 23 in France and is now buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, USA.
