Herbert F. Bristol was born on January 13, 1924. He was the son of Herbert Eugene Bristol. He enlisted in the Army on March 19, 1943 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. Herbert served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was captured during the European Theatre in France and died as a Prisoner of War on June 27, 1944 at the age of 20. He is now buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts, USA.
