Donald Hartman Weisel was born in 1920. He was the son of Theodore Hartman Weisel and Minerva Sarah Ellen Hough Weisel. Donald served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument in Omaha Beach, France and ranked as a Corporal.
