Co pilot of the B17 "Ensign Mary", SN 42.31648, code LF-H, which took off from Kimbolton in the UK on a bombing run to Aerodrome at Laon-Couvron on 16 Jun 1944. The aircraft was hit by flak and the entire crew, except for the pilot and the machinist, bailed out. The plane came down at 1853 on the plateau of Monvinet outside of Pontpoint, France. LT Peterson successfully evaded captivity. MACR 5988.
