James Hillard Tidwell, aged 19, was born on July 10, 1925. He was the son of Robert Freeman Tidwell and Flora Adeline Kelly Tidwell. James served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He died on October 13, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Sardis #1 Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Lynn, Winston County, Alabama, USA.
