Daniel served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He died on July 9, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Saint Ann Cemetery, Rib Lake, Taylor County, Wisconsin, USA.
