Henry J. Szczombrowski was born March 14, l920 and attended the Galway High School from which he was graduated. He afterward took defense courses at the Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady and the Amsterdam Technical High School. Previous to his induction he was employed by the General Electric Company in Schenectady.
He entered the military service from Saratoga County on September 24, 1943 and took his basic training at Camp Wheeler Ga., in the Infantry. He left for overseas in March, 1944. Henry served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 16, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy but his current burial place is unknown.
