Alvin J. Stern, aged 23, was born on January 31, 1921. He was the son of Daniel Stern and Emma Loterbauer Stern. Alvin served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Sergeant during World War II. He died on September 18, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Bristol Cemetery, Bristol, Day County, South Dakota, USA.
