Barney F. Spears, aged 19, was born on April 29, 1925. He was the son of Thurman C. Spears and Alma Ramey Spears. Barney served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 13, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Bennett Cemetery, Thach, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
