James Cantelou Royster, aged 19, was born on April 23, 1925 in South Carolina. He was the son of Lucius Pittard Royster and Justine Howell Cantelou Royster. He served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. James was Killed in Action on October 13, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the East View Cemetery, Edgefield, Edgefield County, South Carolina, USA.
