Victor M. Rogers, aged 21, was born on February 15, 1923 in Wayne County, Georgia. Victor graduated from Daytona Beach High School and entered the Army in January 1943. He received his infantry training at Fort McClellan, Al, Fort Meade, Md, and Camp McCoy, Wisc. before being sent overseas in April of 1944. In 1943, he married Miss Gloria Raye of Daytona Beach, Fl, but they had no children. Victor served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 18, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.
