Rito Luna, aged 19, was born on May 22, 1925. He attended the grade and high schools in Sedgwick and enlisted in the army at Fort Leavenworth on August 27, 1943. Rito served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on September 18, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Harvey County, Kansas, USA.
