When Russell Andreas was born on April 23, 1893, in Dover, Ohio, his father, John, was 49 and his mother, Saretta, was 41. He had two brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company G, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 12, 1918 in France at the age of 25 and is now buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dover, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, USA.
