Jean Morel Eschallier, aged 32, was born on April 20, 1912 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Philip Adrien Eschallier and Anna Marie Morel Eschallier. He graduated from West Philadlephia High School and the Evening School at the Univeristy of Pennsylvania. Before his military service he worked for Fidelity-Philadelphia Trust Co. Jean served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 13, 1944 in the battle around the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA.
